"my" dresser w/ my pc laying on its side on top.
my music workstation - that's my new coat!
the most "depressing" section of my room....my mixer won't work - i finally got it to turn on, but there's a loud, high-freq. hum running through it & it won't accept signal from my keyboard. my speakers won't turn on anymore either. and when they did, they had a very loud hum as well - hopefully they'll work when i get back to the states. so, it looks like i won't be able to get to use my amp system.

  1. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-difference-between-american-and-european-electrical-outlets.htm

I hope your equipment isn't damaged, because the electric current from Finnish outlets is 220-240 volts, in comparison to American 120-140 volts..

  3. Janna, this is Mark, It could be a problem with the frequency of the power. Power in the US is 120Vac at 60Hz, I think the power there is 220Vac at 50Hz. Even though the power is converted from 220 to 120, I'm not sure if it can convert from 50hz to 60hz. I'll start checking for you. Sounds like you're having a lot of fun. Um, some pictures of people would be great, including you. Have fun, Mark

  4. what? the pictures @ the show in turku aren't enough for you? to be honest, since i'm the one taking the pictures, there aren't going to be many, if any, of myself....i'll start taking pictures of people soon....

the frequency i'm hearing is much higher than 50hz; it's probably @ least 1khz.

  5. Hi,

I'm not refering to the audible frequency you can hear. I'm talking about the power being delivered to your electronic devices. AC power is a sine wave. US is 120V@60hz, Finland is 220V@50hz. Some things will work some won't, check the label on the device, it should list the power and frequency it is capable of.

Be a nerd, ask a stranger to snap your picture.

    Have fun,

    Mark
